These yarns are beautiful to knit with - I especially love the complexity of the colours. The tonals are wonderfully saturated and the variegates have the multiple colours subtly and skillfully woven through. Julie provides great customer service and support and if you ever get the chance to be at a show where she has a stall, go up and say Hi as her passion for yarn and colour will inspire you. (Btw, she has terrific Instagram posts, full of stories about the plants, birds and animals of Australia which inspire her dyeing.)

I ordered a custom dye job from Dyed By Hand Yarns for a special project. Julie was very helpful with colour selection, and sent me several pictures to help me choose. She gave regular updates, finished the job promptly and I was so happy to receive my yarn in the mail - it was even more beautiful than I expected!

I've bought and squished Dyed By Hand yarns at the Bendigo Sheep Show in the past so I know how lovely these yarns truly are. When looking to complement a stashed yarn for an upcoming special project, I didn't hesitate to ask Julie for help with selecting colours. Her suggestions were considered and inspiring - Julie's products are amazing, but her customer service is second to none, I really can't recommend her highly enough!! Now that the yarn has arrived, I am blown away by the colour combinations, I'm so excited for my upcoming cast on!

I am thrilled to bits with my beautiful Tough Stocking from Julie at Dyed by Hand Yarns. It was a Wow 🤩 moment as I opened the beautifully wrapped parcel. I think this is the nicest sock yarn to use as it is soft but sturdy.

I love the Blue Chip Stocking base! I've already knitted several pairs of socks from it and knew that it was the perfect yarn for a special shawl. The sheen is amazing, the slight halo is so cozy and Julie's layers of colour add so much depth! It's so luxurious, you feel spoilt knitting such beautiful yarn.

My Journey
Introduced to textiles at an early age, Julie has been expanding her knowledge and skills ever since. In 2012 she decided to start dyeing yarn - the rest is history.
Since moving to a rural property in East Gippsland Julie has been influenced by nature and the unique effect of the Australian sun on colours. Using professional dyes and various dyeing techniques she creates small batches of hand dyed yarn for your crafting adventures.
