Easter is here, so this week’s Free Pattern Friday looks at two Bunny patterns.
Easter Bunny Booties is a free knitting pattern available from Drops Design. The pattern uses a 5ply/sport weight yarn held together with a fluffy 2ply/lace yarn to create the fluffy bunny look, however you could just use the 5ply/sport weight alone. These baby/toddler socks are knit from the top down in a circular fashion, and the crochet trim at the top is added at the end. Don’t you just love the cute little bunny faces? No? How about making little dogs/cats/bears or whatever you can imagine! Or maybe just use the basic sock pattern in your favourite colour.
The free crochet pattern is the Bunny Rabbit Costume Hat by Darlene Hopkins (don’t you just love a good pun?!). A quick and easy project using worsted weight yarn and a 5.00mm hook, this would be easy to re-size for adults to wear (the M/L size is 5yo-teen). Use whatever coloured scraps of yarns you have for the contrast in the ears (about 10g or less). What makes this hat better than a lot of other bunny hats is the ear placement: make sure you place the ears towards the sides of the hat, unless you like floppy ears in your face!
Hoppy Easter everyone, and may you get lots of crafting done!
